London, England Pictorial

A guard stands at parade rest outside Buckingham Palace.

Thousands gather around Victoria Monument (honoring the first queen to reside at Buck. Palace) as they await the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace.

A platoon of soldiers marches in front of each guard where they are relieved of duty and the oncoming guard takes his post.

Hugh Grant does NOT live here.

This picture was taken in Notting Hill, walking distance from Kensington Gardens.

Fred Perry welcomes visitors and fans to Wimbledon. Eventually, I'll link the rest of my Wimbledon photos (there are many) here. Unfortunately for the English (and Tim Henman), they haven't had much luck at their own tournament since Fred Perry.

Westminster Abbey is where the queen's coronation takes place, and where the remains of Queen Elizabeth I (Queen of the Elizabethan age of literature for whom many of Shakespeare's plays were originally performed) and King James (as in the King James version of the Bible was written for...) are located.

Princess Diana's memorial service was held here in 1997.

The famous church was founded in the 11th Century and survived the Reformation.

Westminster Abbey also includes a Poet's Corner where Geoffrey Chaucer is buried.

Big Ben, built in 1858, is a prominent part of Parliament Square. This was right around the time Charles Dickens began his large reading tour.
